THANK YOU
Dear friends and partners from around the world:
this year-end finds us particularly pleased to celebrate with you several important achievements for our Company.
The first one is the awarding of the prestigious Tre Bicchieri for our Collegonzi Sangiovese, finally recognized for its quality and worthy to join the Olympus of these wines that for decades have represented a point of reference for all wine enthusiasts and operators in the sector. This is a historic achievement and we will do our very best to honor it by continuing to work to hold this recognition for the next vintages on, raising the bar for the quality of our native products, as it is our custom to do.
In this regard, the other achievement we wish to celebrate with you is the birth of our first organic Ciliegiolo. We have always wished to produce a wine from this grape, which we believe has unique characteristics in terms of drinkability and recognizability. Finally seeing it in the bottle is special indeed, especially considering that, even before being marketed, it stirred significant interest among our Italian and foreign customers.
Brunello di Montalcino Officium di Poggio Scudieri, from the marvelous vineyards of Montalcino rich in history and charm, is another important product novelty. It is an authentic wine that embodies loyalty to the values of tradition and respect for nature; a new production born from the enthusiasm and desire to further increase the quality, image and selection of our wines.
We wish you a happy and joyful holiday season. Thank you, as always, for your trust in us, in our products and your closeness to our family. We look forward to sharing with you a new year full of goals and wishes to grow, with many more awesome news to come.

Collegonzi Sangiovese
The painstaking work spent to constantly improve and promote top-notch quality, this year rewarded our Collegonzi Sangiovese, the iconic label of Fattoria di Calappiano – the family’s organic farm – creating a wine from the vineyards on the Collegonzi hills from which it takes its name. A unique place where even Leonardo Da Vinci loved to walk, a hill full of marine fossils that bestows unique character to the wines. The very best of the Fattoria’s wines, this year’s Collegonzi Sangiovese won a number of awards, including the Tre Bicchieri by Gambero Rosso and 94 points awarded by Daniele Cernilli’s Essential Guide to the wines of Italy.
100% Sangiovese. It ages 14 months in large French oak barrels and 12 months in the bottle. Clear and bright ruby red color, on the nose it opens with an elegant bouquet of small crunchy red fruits, fine spices slightly smoky and floral hints. On the palate it is rich and lively at the same time, fresh, juicy and tasty with a long persistence of spices, red fruits and slightly smoky hints.

Collegonzi Ciliegiolo
A new wine that finally came to light, produced according to the rules of organic farming at Fattoria di Calappiano, a new and sought-after label. It is the result of continuous research and the desire to enhance autochthonous vines, full of history and unique characteristics. For this reason, a vine often deemed subordinate to Sangiovese here was turned into a pure wine to demonstrate its unique character.
100% Ciliegiolo. Aged in steel tanks. Clear and lively ruby red color. On the nose it features the fragrance of red flowers, sweet spices, cassis and cherry. On the palate, it boasts great freshness, a snappy and crisp sip, delicate tannin and hints of fruit, tobacco and light cocoa in the pleasant and long finish.

Officium Poggio Scudieri
The Abbey of Sant’Antimo stands on the hills surrounding Montalcino, hidden among vines and olive trees that extend as far as the eye can see. Legend has it that in 771 Emperor Charlemagne and his troops, returning from Rome, stopped here to regain strength and the Emperor restored his health through medicinal plants grown by the Benedictine monks and by drinking from a spring with therapeutic properties. This secret place owes its Poggio Scudieri name to the pilgrims, merchants, soldiers and squires who, passing along the Via Francigena, stopped here. Officium, Poggio Scudieri’s Brunello di Montalcino, was born from these ancient lands rich in history and blanketed by vineyards to celebrate the ancestral bond between people and nature.
Officium, a Latin name, is a tribute to the duty and loyalty of Squires.
The label, with its simple and straightforward design, is a tribute to the beautiful tower of the Abbey and its surroundings, while the roots symbolize the link between land and people. Finally, the gold color brings back memories of the magnificent backgrounds of medieval miniatures and reminds of sunlight’s reflections on the shields of knights and squires when they finally reached this peaceful place.
Brunello Officium is the result of scrupulous organoleptic research into Sangiovese Grosso and careful cultivation of this grape in a particular area of Montalcino, where the soil is rich in fossils with marl and albariza.
The wine ages 36 months in large barrels depending on the vintage and 18 months in cement and steel tanks. Ruby color with a hint of garnet. On the nose it offers the fragrance of spices, red fruits, berries, undergrowth, Juniper, humus, and gentle hints of flowers, licorice and black pepper. On the palate it is crisp and fresh, with medium body, good acidity and integrated tannins. Balsamic and spicy flavors define its finish.
